Lampi Marine National Park

Lampi Island is generally hilly and rises steeply from sea level to 270 meters. Much of the coast is rocky, although there are a number of sandy beaches, bays, and inlets.

The Park boasts of large caves and plenty of freshwater sources in the island, as well as major coral formations around the smaller islands. The park measures 20,484 hectares in Boatpyin Township of Taninthayi Division, Myanmar.

Unique Flora: Dipterocarps in lowland forests,such as Dipterocarpus alatus; epiphytic species such as lianas (Calamus sp.); pure stands of Casuarina equisitifolia, Dillenia and Calophyllum sp; wild orchids and ferns

Unique Fauna: Nicobar pigeon (Caloenas nicobarica); edible-nest swiftlets (Callocalia fuciphaga); lesser mouse deer (Tragulus javanicuslampensis); small-clawed otter (Aonyx cinera); crab-eating macaque (Macaca fasicularis); langur (Presbytis sp.); Indian muntjac (Muntiacus muntjak); wild boar, elephants; the green hawksbill (Eretmochelys imbricata); Olive Ridley and leatherback turtles (Dermochelys coriacea); whales; dolphins; dugong (Dugong dugon); beautiful butterflies; estuarine crocodiles

Habitat types: Seas; coral reefs; sandy beaches; mangroves and lowland tropical evergreen forests; uninhabited lowland rainforest; swampy areas; fern vegetation; freshwater streams

Found in the Lampi Marine National Park is the protected anchorage of Salet Galet, which offers jungle walks, great fishing, snorkeling and kayaking. Also, visitors can experience the traditional culture of the Salon tribe in the village of Pu Nala, as well as the chance for an encounter with the Moken Sea Gypsies: family groups complete with dogs and cats aboard their tiny wooden boats.

Apart from surfing, guests can also explore the magnificent seascape, healthy mangrove forest, endless white sandy beaches along the coast, and the coral reefs.
